Privacy Policy — FeedMaster

Last updated: August 10, 2026

1. Data controller

FeedMaster (browser extension and related API) is published and operated in connection with soft-altsoft.com.

Product site: https://feedmaster.soft-altsoft.com — Publisher site: https://soft-altsoft.com

For privacy questions, contact us via soft-altsoft.com (contact / support) and mention “FeedMaster — Privacy”.

2. Scope

This policy explains how FeedMaster processes data when you use:

  • the FeedMaster browser extension (Facebook feed filtering);
  • the feedmaster.soft-altsoft.com site/API (licensing, payments, optional AI analysis);
  • checkout and PayPal webhooks related to your subscription.

FeedMaster is not affiliated with Meta/Facebook. Facebook remains subject to Meta’s own privacy policy.

3. Data we process

3.1 Data stored only on your device

Via extension storage (chrome.storage): filtering preferences (keywords, UI options, excluded themes, custom prompt), language, theme, AI consent, AI pause, and technical metadata needed to run the product (e.g. cached license key, device identifier).

These items are not sent to the server unless a feature explicitly requires it (see below).

3.2 License and device data (server)

  • license key and subscription status (active, expiration, plan);
  • technical device ID and friendly device name;
  • AI usage counters (volume_used) — without post content;
  • PayPal subscription identifiers needed for billing and renewal.

3.3 AI analysis (only with your consent)

If you enable AI and give explicit consent, the extension sends our API a locally prepared text extract (post message, and when the message is short, link-preview description / image alt text when available), truncated (e.g. 600 characters), after basic scrubbing of obvious URLs, @handles, emails, or phone numbers.

The extract is processed in memory to return a hide/show decision and is relayed to an AI model (Google Gemini). Post content is not stored in our database and is not kept in application logs for later analysis.

We may also receive: excluded themes / custom prompt (if configured), license key and device ID (to authorize the call and increment usage).

3.4 Payments

Payments are processed by PayPal. We do not store your card numbers. We receive from PayPal what is needed to activate or renew a license (e.g. subscription ID, plan).

3.5 What we do not collect

  • no retention logging of Facebook post content;
  • no sale of personal data;
  • no ad targeting based on your feed content;
  • no intentional access to Facebook private messages outside the open feed page being filtered.

4. Purposes and legal bases

  • Provide local filtering — contract performance / legitimate interest in operating the extension.
  • Manage Premium license, devices, and quotas — contract performance.
  • Optional AI analysis — consent (off by default; withdraw anytime in the extension).
  • Payment and abuse prevention — contract performance and legitimate interest.
  • Security and limited technical diagnostics (without post content) — legitimate interest.

5. Retention

  • Local settings: until you uninstall the extension or clear extension/site data.
  • License / devices / counters: for the life of the subscription relationship, then as needed for legal/accounting duties, or until deletion is requested where allowed.
  • AI post extract: transient in-memory processing; not retained as stored post content.
  • PayPal data: per PayPal’s policy and our need to evidence the subscription.

6. Recipients and processors

Depending on features you use, data may be processed by:

  • Hosting for the site/API related to soft-altsoft.com;
  • Google (Gemini) — only if AI is enabled with consent: receives the text extract to produce the decision;
  • PayPal — payment and subscription.

These providers act under their terms and may be processors or independent controllers for their own processing (notably PayPal and Google).

7. International transfers

Calling Google Gemini may involve processing outside the EEA (e.g. United States), depending on Google’s infrastructure. PayPal may also process data internationally.

By enabling AI, you accept this transfer for the stated purpose. Provider transfer mechanisms (e.g. standard contractual clauses) may apply.

8. Security

We apply reasonable measures: HTTPS, limited AI payload (truncation, basic scrubbing), no API storage of post content, and license-based access controls.

No system is perfect. Avoid putting sensitive personal data in a custom prompt.

9. Your rights

Depending on your laws (including GDPR if you are in the EEA/UK), you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, port data, and withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing).

  • AI consent: disable or pause AI in the extension.
  • Local data: uninstall the extension or clear extension/site data in the browser.
  • License / devices: contact support with your license key (do not send post content).
  • Payments: also manage the subscription in your PayPal account.

You may lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France: CNIL).

10. Children

FeedMaster is not directed at children under 16 (or the applicable digital consent age). We do not knowingly collect children’s data.

11. Cookies and similar storage

This privacy page does not use advertising cookies. The extension uses Chrome (or equivalent) extension storage for settings. PayPal checkout may set PayPal cookies.

12. Facebook / third-party sites

The extension reads content visible on the open Facebook page to apply your filters. This happens locally in your browser. We do not sell that data. Meta’s practices are governed by Meta’s terms.

13. Changes

We may update this policy for product, legal, or security changes. The date at the top will be revised. For material changes to AI or collection practices, we will try to notify via the extension or site when reasonable.
